Exploring the Summer Solstice (Kids Mini-Camp)

WEDNESDAY THROUGH FRIDAY FROM 10-11:30 AM.
The Summer Solstice is the longest day of the year. Your child will have the opportunity to celebrate the full return of the sun with three mornings of Books, Songs, and Crafts/Snacks at Bay View’s South Shore Park (weather permitting). Books and activities will include:
- The Longest Day: Celebrating the Summer Solstice by Wendy Pfeffer, sing Solstice songs, then make Sun Medallions with salt dough.
- The Summer Solstice by Ellen Jackson, sing Solstice songs, then make Dandelion Bread (to be picked up on the final day)
- Under Alaska’s Midnight Sun by Deb Vanasse, sing Solstice songs, then as a grand finale make White Chocolate Orange Creamsicle and Lemon Truffles to take home that day.
(Ages 4-7 years with a parent, 8-10 years may attend independently)

Limited openings. Please note, if attending parents of 4-7 yr. olds want to make the craft and snack too, please call for additional cost. Can’t make all 3 classes? Contact Kim (at BVCC) to find out if there is space available to register ala carte. Have food allergies? Please indicate allergies on the required emergency form.
