Basic Knife Skills

Hone your skills! If the thought of slicing and dicing all those fresh local vegetables prevents you from cooking from scratch, learn how to “sharpen” your basic knife skills.  Trained chef Annie Wegner LeFort will teach basic cutting and sharpening techniques as well as discuss selection and care of knives for food preparation. Food Preservation Basics

In this lecture and demonstration, Annie, a Certified Wisconsin Master Food Preserver and professional food preservation specialist, will explain the benefits and challenges of various food preservation techniques with an emphasis on hot-water-bath canning. There is no hands-on participation in this class, however it is the basis for all of Annie's other canning classes this season.
