June 26, 6:30-8:30 Early Summer Pickles Canning fruits and vegetables in a vinegar base is an age old practice for preserving summer’s harvest. Annie will guide participants in a hands-on efforts to preserve early summer vegetables. Recipes are included in the handouts. Feel free to bring an apron and a small box to carry home still-hot preserves. Please register by June 19. UEC Members $35, Non-members $40.

In this hands-on class you will learn how to safely hot-water-bath can both tomato salsas and fruit salsas. Bring an apron if you'd like and a box in which to carry home your still-hot preserves. Recipes will be included in the handout. $35 UEC members, $40 non-members. Please register by July 10.

In this class, Annie will demonstrate how to make a variety of gluten-free breads that don’t require yeast for leavening: Savory Crepes, Grain-Free Flatbreads (Gluten-Free Wraps), Herb and Seed Crackers, and Gluten-Free Tortillas. They make versatile bases for wraps, quesadillas, spreads, and more. Please register by July 13.

In this hands-on class Annie will discuss safe food preservation techniques and guide you in hot water bath canning whole fruits, summer chutneys, and no-pectin fruit preserves.   In this demonstration Annie will show you how to create delicious, healthy, simple gluten-free dishes for each meal of the day (plus dessert!) She will also discuss how to adapt recipes to be gluten-free and how to make these recipes more versatile with the seasons: Sweet Potato Hash, Roasted Garlic Toasted Quinoa, Catalan Meatballs, and Pumpkin Fudge.
